“Your past does not define you. Your wounds do not limit you. What you choose to heal and transform can change the direction of your entire life.”

Those words are more than a motto for Joelle Barbarulo. They describe the life she has lived, and the work she now does with clients through Divinity Life Coaching.

Barbarulo is a registered nurse, relationship coach, speaker and the bestselling author of Slaying Miami, one of eight books she has published. From her base in Naples, Florida, she helps people heal childhood wounds, break unhealthy relationship patterns and build a life rooted in self-awareness, emotional freedom and authentic connection.

A Business Born From Her Own Healing

Barbarulo’s business was born from her personal journey of trauma, healing and transformation. She has faced childhood trauma, divorce and spinal cord injuries. Each experience, she says, tested her strength, resilience and determination.

“Rather than allowing my past to define me, I chose healing, personal growth, and transformation,” she says. “Today, I use those experiences to help others recognize that their past does not have to determine their future.”

Nurse, Neuroscience, and the Heart

For more than 16 years, Barbarulo has worked as an RN, and she brings a background in neuroscience to her coaching. That training gave her a deep understanding of the body. Her lived experience showed her how much happens beneath it.

She came to see how childhood wounds, emotional suppression and unresolved pain can shape a person’s identity, influence their choices and create repeating patterns in relationships. Helping people address those wounds became her calling.

Who She Serves

Divinity Life Coaching works with high-achieving men and women who are successful in their careers and lives but keep repeating unhealthy relationship patterns. Some overgive. Some people-please. Some chase emotionally unavailable partners. Others shut down emotionally.

Barbarulo works with them through 1:1 mentorship, workshops and transformational resources to understand attachment patterns, address emotional suppression and build self-worth and emotional security.

“The core problem I help solve: people are often living from unresolved emotional wounds and survival patterns that continue to influence how they see themselves, how they show up, and who they choose in relationships,” she says. The transformation she works toward is emotional awareness, self-worth, secure attachment and healthier relationships.

On Screen and on the Cover

Her work has reached wide audiences. Barbarulo has been featured on Legacy Makers TV and Inside Success TV, appeared on the cover of Awakening Magazine and earned five-star reviews. She also takes the stage as a speaker, sharing her message of healing and transformation with live audiences.

A Single Mother’s Strength

One of Barbarulo’s greatest accomplishments isn’t on a book cover. She raised three children as a single mother while building her career and following her purpose.

“My journey reflects resilience, perseverance, and a commitment to turning life experiences into a mission to help others transform their lives,” she says.

Thinking Globally

Looking ahead, Barbarulo wants to become an international speaker, sharing her message and making a global impact. She plans to keep coaching, writing and building programs that help people heal and form healthier relationships.

“My mission is to make a difference one soul at a time,” she says.

Advice for Entrepreneurs

“There will be challenges and moments of doubt, but don’t give up on something you believe you were meant to do,” Barbarulo says. “Lead with authenticity, work with passion, trust your path.”
